Join us on Wednesday 5 October for the first Stars on Starting out talk in the series, by Paul Simmons, Designer and Founder at Timorous Beasties.
Paul will discuss his career to date, and explore successful strategies for starting out in the creative industries. Paul will be introduced by Sheffield-based artist Sarah-Jane Palmer and the discussion will be chaired by Professor Sally Wade, Director of Sheffield Institute of Arts.
Founded by Paul Simmons and Alistair McAuley, who met as students at Glasgow School of Art, the Timorous Beasties design studio has both embraced traditional design and defied conventional rules of pattern-making over the last 25 years.
The result has been an array of exciting textile collections and collaborative projects. Expert in printed fabrics and wallpapers, Timorous Beasties also work in a wide breadth of disciplines, ranging from graphics, furniture, products, ceramics, carpets, glass and interiors.
