Rose Butler uses adapted technology and custom built software alongside early cameras and analogue techniques to make interactive installations, single and multi-screen videos or large-scale photographs. Her research brings together photographic and filmic documentation, archival material, political commentary and fiction. Recent work examines the in-between spaces generated by physical and digital, visible and invisible borders such as buffer zones, ‘no mans land’ or surveillance data.
