Norman Anderson is a Sheffield-based artist. His work comprises script-like drawings and abstract paintings which derive from sounds, specifically an mystery language which he felt became accessible to him after a stroke six years ago. This is a language in which he feels he is fluent, but its provenance and meaning is a mystery to him. Norman believes that it conveys an ancient wisdom which has not only helped in his own recovery but which is relevant today, and may help others.
He holds a BA in Fine Art from the University of Doncaster and an MFA from Sheffield Hallam University.
