OPEN CALL: EXHIBITION CALL OUT - 'MATERIALITY'

Ways of Making Programme: Persistence Works Gallery OPEN CALL for artists/makers is now live.

Yorkshire Artspace is seeking applications from visual artists/makers based in Sheffield City Region to deliver a project in their Persistence Works Gallery with a focus on MATERIALITY. There are two slots available: September/ October 2019 and October/ November 2020. Applicants should be clear about which slot they would like to apply for – 2019 0r 2020 - although we would urge you to be flexible if possible.

Each selected artist will be offered;

  • £1,500 artist fee for showing new work in the gallery
  • £1,200 for production/installation costs
  • plus other budget held by Yorkshire Artspace towards invigilation, tech support, marketing and mentoring

Applications can be made by individual artists, or from a group/small collective, although it should be noted that the fee budget is fixed and the lead artist must be based in the Sheffield City Region. We are keen to show the work of both early career and established artists and makers.

All proposed projects must;

  • -be public facing
  • -be delivered in the allocated 8 week slots (6-weeks delivery plus 2 weeks set up/take down)
  • -develop artists’ practice
  • -develop audiences’ experience and understanding of visual art

Our previous Ways of Making Programme supported 6 Sheffield based artists (more details below) to develop new work and engage and involve audiences with the production of visual art/craft.
