Kandy has been running workshops to introduce people to the magic of knitting machines both in her studio and at an event at Millennium Galleries:

'With the financial support of the microgrant I purchased three second hand knitting machines and a wide range of yarns to use with these. I then used these machines to run workshops from my studio at Yorkshire Artspace, I have held four beginners workshops so far and am developing further intermediate workshops for the New Year.

As well as these workshops, I have taken my knitting machine to events at Millennium Galleries where I demonstrated machine knitting as well as allowing members of the public to have a go on the machine. One of the machines was also set up for people to try at the Open Studios event at Persistence Works in November.

Kandy found the scheme enabled her to take her work forward in a way that would have taken much longer without the Microgrant.
